Pick an edition, set your seat count and support plan, and see the real year-one bill — the $25/user headline routinely becomes an effective $200–400 per user once Enterprise licensing, Premier support and implementation land.

Everything above Starter bills annually up front — a 10-seat Enterprise commitment is $21,000 before support.
Premier Success plan (+30% of net license)
Standard support is included; Premier is the tier with 24/7 phone support and faster response targets.
Partner projects are quoted separately from licensing. See the implementation-cost teardown below for real ranges.
Real year-one total
$36,000
License$1,750/mo
Premier Success$0/mo
Annual license commitment$21,000
Implementation (one-time)$15,000
Effective monthly, year one$3,000/mo
Effective per user per month$300
The Starter ad says $25/user — this configuration runs an effective $300/user in year one.

Why the headline and the invoice disagree

Three mechanics do the work. First, the edition ladder: the $25 Starter Suite is real but thin, and the features sales teams buy Salesforce for — advanced pipeline management, conversation intelligence, meaningful automation — sit at Enterprise, $175 per user, billed annually with no monthly option. Second, support: Standard is included, but the Premier plan teams add when Salesforce becomes critical infrastructure prices at roughly 30 percent of net license. Third, implementation: Salesforce is sold as a platform, not a product, and the partner project that configures it is quoted separately — our implementation-cost teardown walks the real ranges from solo-admin setups to six-figure builds.

A 10-seat Enterprise team with Premier and a modest implementation crosses $40,000 in year one — against a $25/user ad.

Prices are Salesforce's published list rates as verified in our Salesforce review (Lab Score 6.9); negotiated enterprise agreements can land below list, and add-on clouds land above it. The shape of the bill is the point: seats times edition is the floor, never the total.

If the number stings

Most teams running this calculator do not need the platform — they need a pipeline. Pipedrive (8.6) covers working-tier sales management at $14–79 per seat with no implementation project, and Zoho CRM (8.6) runs $14–52 with the deepest feature set per dollar we have tested. The head-to-heads are here: Zoho vs Salesforce and Salesforce vs HubSpot. Or price every mainstream CRM at your seat count in one view with the CRM pricing calculator.
