Redtail CRM pricing
$39 or $59 per user per month — but the $39 plan stops at five users and leaves out document storage, compliant texting and workflows. Hiring a sixth person raises the bill by $1,908. And if you remember Redtail as the $99-a-month one, that plan is no longer on the price list.
RealCostLabs is independent and reader-supported. We earn no commission from Redtail or Wealthbox. All prices are read from the vendors’ own pages and verified in August 2026.
The short answer
A solo advisor pays $468 a year on Launch. A five-person firm pays $2,340 on Launch or $3,540 on Growth. From six people up it is Growth only, starting at $4,248.
Three things decide this purchase, and none of them is the headline rate:
- Launch is capped at five users, and the higher Growth rate then applies to everybody — so the sixth hire costs $1,908.
- Launch excludes Imaging and Speak — document storage and compliant texting — along with workflows and viewing permissions.
- The per-database plan is gone. Pricing is per user now.

What Launch leaves out
This is the part that matters most, because the missing pieces are the ones an advisory firm is likeliest to need for recordkeeping.
| Capability | Launch $39 | Growth $59 |
|---|---|---|
| Contact and account management | Yes | Yes |
| Mobile app, integrations, reporting, segmentation | Yes | Yes |
| Redtail Imaging — document storage | No | Yes, 200 GB |
| Redtail Speak — compliant texting | No | Yes |
| Process workflows | No | Yes |
| Automation triggers | No | Yes |
| Viewing permissions | No | Yes |
| Suite Sync — email, calendar and contact sync | No | Yes |
| Bulk email | No | Yes |
Two of those absences are worth thinking about carefully rather than as line items.
Compliant texting. Since 2021 the SEC has charged over 100 entities and collected more than $3 billion in penalties over off-channel communications — texts, WhatsApp, personal email — under the recordkeeping rules. Redtail Speak exists to put client texting on a preserved channel. It is a Growth feature. If you intend to text clients at all, that decides your tier before price does.
Document storage. Imaging is where signed agreements, statements and plan documents live inside the CRM. Without it those files sit somewhere else, and the CRM stops being the single client record you bought it to be.
Launch is a genuinely good deal for a firm that wants a clean contact database and keeps documents and communications elsewhere in systems it already trusts. It is not the cheap version of Growth — it is a smaller product.
The sixth hire costs $1,908
Launch is capped at five users. When you add a sixth person, the whole firm moves to Growth and the higher rate applies to every seat, not just the new one.
| Headcount | Plan | Rate | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Launch | $39 | $468 |
| 3 | Launch | $39 | $1,404 |
| 5 | Launch | $39 | $2,340 |
| 6 | Growth | $59 | $4,248 |
| 10 | Growth | $59 | $7,080 |
| 20 | Growth | $59 | $14,160 |
One hire, and the software bill rises 82%. If you are at four or five people and expect to grow, that is a conversation to have with Redtail before you make the offer — not after.
It also changes how you should read the $1,200 gap between Launch and Growth at five users. You are not choosing between two prices; you are choosing between a plan you will outgrow and one you will not.

Is Growth worth $1,200 more at five users?
At five people, Launch is $2,340 and Growth is $3,540. What the extra $1,200 a year buys:
- Compliant texting on a preserved channel
- 200 GB of document storage inside the client record
- Process workflows and automation triggers
- Viewing permissions — which matters as soon as not everyone should see everything
- Email, calendar and contact sync
- Bulk email
For most registered firms this is not a close call. A standalone compliant-texting or archiving product typically costs more than $1,200 a year on its own, so if texting clients is part of how you work, Growth pays for itself on that single line.
Launch makes sense for a solo advisor or a small team that does not text clients, keeps documents in a separate managed system, and wants a contact database rather than an operating system.

The plan you remember is gone
Redtail spent years as the affordable option in this category, priced per database — roughly $99 a month covering up to fifteen users. That structure does not appear on the pricing page any more. Pricing is per user.
| Firm size | Old per-database model | Growth today |
|---|---|---|
| 5 users | ~$1,188/yr | $3,540/yr |
| 10 users | ~$1,188/yr | $7,080/yr |
| 15 users | ~$1,188/yr | $10,620/yr |
The per-database figure is the widely reported historical rate for context. It is not currently offered and is shown only to explain why quoted prices differ so much across older articles.
If you are still on a legacy plan, price your renewal at the current per-user rate before you assume it carries over. A ten-person firm moving from a flat database rate to per-user pricing is looking at roughly six times the cost, and that is a budgeting conversation you want months ahead of the renewal date rather than on it.
It also explains why older comparisons are unreliable here. If an article quotes Redtail at $99 a month, it is describing a plan you cannot buy.
Monthly against annual: a flat $72 a seat
| Plan | Annual | Monthly | Saving per user | As a percentage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | $39 | $45 | $72/year | 13.3% |
| Growth | $59 | $65 | $72/year | 9.2% |
The discount is $6 a user a month on both plans — a flat amount, which is why it looks larger as a percentage on the cheaper tier. Across a ten-person firm on Growth that is $720 a year.
It is a modest gap by category standards. Pipedrive’s monthly-to-annual difference runs from 35% to 50%; Wealthbox publishes no annual rate at all. If cash flow or headcount uncertainty argues for monthly billing here, the penalty for choosing it is small.
Redtail against Wealthbox on price
| Redtail Growth | Wealthbox Basic | Wealthbox Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per user/month | $59 | $59 | $75 |
| Workflows and automation | Yes | No | Yes |
| Email and calendar sync | Yes | No | Yes |
| Compliant texting | Yes | No | No |
| Document storage | 200 GB | 2 GB | More |
At the same $59, Redtail Growth includes what Wealthbox charges $75 for, plus compliant texting that Wealthbox does not offer at any tier on its price list. On features, Redtail is $16 a user a month cheaper — $1,920 a year across ten people.
The counter-argument is adoption rather than price: Wealthbox is widely regarded as the better-designed interface, and a CRM nobody opens is expensive at any rate. See our full comparison in the guide to CRMs for financial advisors and the Wealthbox pricing breakdown.
How to pay less for Redtail
- Stay on Launch while you are five or fewer, but only if you genuinely do not need texting, document storage or workflows. Check that list before you save the $20 a seat.
- Plan the sixth hire. It adds $1,908, and knowing that in advance is worth more than negotiating afterwards.
- Pay annually. It is $72 a user a year on either plan — $720 across ten people, for a commitment you were likely making anyway.
- Price Growth against your separate archiving spend. If compliant texting replaces a standalone product, the tier upgrade is probably already paid for.
- Ask what the Enterprise minimum actually is before assuming you are too small for it. The commitment is not published, and above fifteen or twenty seats the per-user rate is the thing to negotiate.
- If you are on a legacy per-database plan, get the renewal quote early and model it at $59 a user. Discovering that in the renewal month leaves you no options.
FAQ
How much does Redtail CRM cost in 2026?
$39 per user per month on annual billing for Launch, capped at five users, and $59 for Growth with unlimited users. Monthly billing is $45 and $65. Annually that is $468 and $708 per user.
Is Redtail still $99 a month?
No. The per-database plan — roughly $99 a month for up to fifteen users — is not on the pricing page any more. Redtail prices per user. Articles quoting $99 are describing a plan you cannot buy.
What is the difference between Redtail Launch and Growth?
Growth adds Redtail Imaging (200 GB document storage), Redtail Speak (compliant texting), process workflows, automation triggers, viewing permissions, Suite Sync and bulk email. Launch is contact and account management with the mobile app, integrations and reporting.
Why does adding one person cost so much?
Launch is capped at five users. The sixth person moves the whole firm to Growth at $59, so the increase applies to all six seats: $2,340 becomes $4,248, a rise of $1,908 or 82%.
Are Redtail Imaging and Speak sold separately?
They are bundled into the Growth plan on the current price list rather than offered as standalone add-ons.
Does Redtail have a free trial?
Yes, a free trial of the full Growth plan for new users.
Is there a setup or onboarding fee?
None is mentioned on the pricing page. Enterprise agreements carry a minimum licence commitment whose size is not published.
Is Redtail cheaper than Wealthbox?
At equivalent features, yes. Both start at $59 a user, but Redtail Growth includes workflows, email sync, compliant texting and 200 GB of storage, while Wealthbox Basic includes none of them. The comparable Wealthbox tier is Pro at $75, making Redtail $192 a year per seat cheaper.
How much do I save by paying annually?
$6 per user per month on either plan — $72 a year per seat. That is 13.3% on Launch and 9.2% on Growth, since the discount is a flat amount rather than a percentage.
