What the calculator counts that the pricing page does not

Three line items produce the gap. First, the mandatory onboarding fee: Marketing Hub Professional carries a $3,000 one-time Professional Onboarding charge, Enterprise a $7,000 one — committed before a single email goes out. Second, seat fees: Professional includes three core seats, and every additional seat is about $45 a month. Third, marketing contact tiers: Professional includes 2,000 marketing contacts, and the bill steps up as your database grows — whether or not you email those contacts. The full tier-by-tier breakdown lives in our HubSpot pricing teardown.

HubSpot's advertised-versus-real first-year gap is one of the largest we track.

Three configurations, priced end to end

SetupAdvertisedMonthly recurringYear one all-inEffective /mo
Starter, 2 seats, 1k contacts$30/mo$40$480$40
Professional, 5 seats, 10k contacts$890/mo$1,430$20,160$1,680
Enterprise, 8 seats, 30k contacts$3,600/mo$4,025$55,300$4,608

Rates are HubSpot's published list prices as verified in our pricing teardown; annual-commit discounts and negotiated enterprise terms can lower them, and add-on hubs raise them. The point of the tool is the shape of the bill, not the last dollar: seats and contact tiers, not the headline, decide what you pay.

If the year-one number stings

Two honest exits. An agency buying HubSpot for client work gets the same operational job — CRM, funnels, email, SMS, booking — from GoHighLevel at $297 flat with no onboarding fee and unlimited users; that comparison is not close on price. A team that mostly needs email marketing should price MailerLite (Lab Score 9.2, from $10/mo) before committing to contact-tier billing. And if you stay with HubSpot, archive unsubscribed contacts quarterly — it is the single cheapest lever on this entire page.
